How Can kinesiology help with a detox?

There are simple things we can do to help clean the system: drink plenty of water and fresh juices, do lots of exercise, clean up our diet and make more natural, organic choices, etc. However, if you're looking for a deeper, more holistic cleanse, here are a few ways Kinesiology can help:

  • Identify nutritional deficiencies: Health, in simple terms, is determined by the ratio of toxins vs nutrients in the body. With the amount of heavy metals, food additives, pollutants and stress that we're exposed to on a daily basis, it's important that we replenish the body with the necessary nutrients in order for it to detoxify effectively.

  • Support your organs of detoxification: Kinesiology can identify and address imbalances in your organs of detoxification, that might be leading to toxic build-up in your body.

  • Prepare you for a safe and effective detox: Every body is different, and with the multitude of detox programs on the market, it can be difficult to decide which one's right. Without proper supervision, a detox can be quite a shock to the system and end up doing more harm than good. Kinesiology can help identify the most suitable program for your body, and make sure that you're physically and mentally ready to benefit from the process.

  • Resolve toxic thoughts and emotions. Unresolved feelings such as anger, fear, jealousy or resentment can literally act like poison on the body. If you're feeling stuck in a negative situation, Kinesiology can be a very powerful tool in helping you let go and make space for more joy and abundance in your life.

Why is a detox important?

A number of factors may lead to toxic accumulation and/or reduction in the body’s ability to effectively detoxify these substances. The cumulative load, termed the “body burden” may be an underlying contributor to a number of illnesses and conditions such as hormone imbalances, impaired immune system, allergies, nutrient deficiencies and inefficient metabolism. The detoxification process promotes the elimination of toxins and helps your body to achieve optimal performance and well-being.

An effective detox program can deliver benefits that may include:

  • Marked improvement in general well-being

  • Increase in energy level

  • Losing weight can be experienced

  • Stable mood

  • Improved immune system

  • Sound sleep

  • Mental clarity

  • Improved digestion

  • Improved skin conditions.

During the detox program, you may experience some mild headaches, lethargy and low mood.  These symptoms are usually due to a withdrawal from sugar and caffeine, or from the release of toxins from fat cells before they are eliminated from the body, and are generally shorted lived.

I have a fairly healthy lifestyle why should I have problems with toxins?

Toxins can enter the body from a wide range of sources.  These can include:

  • Air pollution which is the release of chemicals and particles into the atmosphere. Common gaseous pollutants such as CO2 and sulphur dioxide are produced by industry, motor vehicles and cigarette smoke.

  • Soil contamination from a spill or underground leakage. The common toxins are heavy metals such as mercury, lead, aluminium, arsenic (which has been shown to cause neurological problems), pesticides and herbicides.

  • Water contamination from the release of waste products, contaminants from surface runoff into river drainage systems, leaching into groundwater.

  • Long term use of medicinal or recreational drugs, alcohol.

What are the possible symptoms of toxins affecting my body?

Anxiety, bad breath, body odour, constipation, depression, dizziness, eczema, fatigue, food intolerances, frequent colds, fungal infection, hay fever, headache, hives, immune dysfunction, indigestion, insomnia, irritability and mood swings, joint pain, nausea, parasites in the bowel, premature aging/wrinkle, sinusitis, skin rashes and/or wheezing.
